The top solar panels manufacturer, Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) is under risky conditions. As its names suggests, it is a Canadian company but it is marketing its products in China. The company has the most mistaken identity as it is part Chinese and part Canadian. Almost all of the resources are provided by the Chinese government for the development of the products.

Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) depends on the solar projects for its profits and income. Last year in Q4, the company earned more than C$311 million by selling 50 megawatts of large scale grid connected photovoltaic generation. Power purchase agreements were signed by the headquarters in Ontario for high scope projects and schemes.

Solar market can be analyzed according to the “go to market” research report which confirms that last, year the price of utility scale systems was $1.83 per watt in Q4. The promising business can be generated from projects in the Canadian market. Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) had 310.7 mega watt of project arrears in the closing stages of 2013, and were decreased to 127 megawatts in 2014.

This information was mentioned in the backlog of 2013. It is expected that all of the company’s earnings would be dramatically reduced as high margin projects would diminish this year in December. The solar power generation systems of Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) are distinguished in the global markets of Japan, Germany, India and China.

Even then, the company has not invested much in the field of research. Other notable companies are making new calculations and products by spending more time and energy on fact-finding and research. Last year, the company’s expenditures on research and development were merely $12.1 million. Chinese solar power products suppliers, Trina Solar limited (NYSE:TSL) and Yingli Green Energy (NYSE:YGE), have adopted the strategy to take credits on short term basis to make use of the proper tools to enhance the competence of their solar systems.

Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) is unable to introduce more efficient solar panel into the market while its competitors like SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWR) produce 21.5% more efficient panels that are of advanced quality. Last year, First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) invested $144 million in research and development while SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWR) invested $73.3 million.

Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) invested $12.1 million in research and latest technology which is a very small sum for such a big business.

Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has established manufacturing plants by taking short term loans from the banks in China. Around $725 million short term borrowings were reported last year. The balance sheet is not impressive and it is a threat that company would be washed-out of its resources soon.

Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) has Chinese employees and relies heavily upon Chinese banks for financial support. It has turned out to be more of a Chinese company and so its shares are at the brink of disaster. The recent price to earnings ratio is 8 and in the future it is anticipated that shares will be costly.

The PlayStation 3 was released on November 11, 2006. A few years after it was released, Sony (NYSE:SNE) launched the PlayStation 4 on November 29, 2013. The new model was lighter, faster and better-looking. The PS4 was also free of the YLOD (yellow light of death) syndrome. A yellow light is displayed when the PlayStation 3 games console experiences total hardware failure of any kind. The system then turns itself off and cannot be turned back on again without fixing the system.

This is typically attributed to either the CPU or the GPU failing due to bad soldering methods, thus the name ‘yellow light of death.’The overheating issue was fixed in PS4 since it is lighter than its precursor. But, PS4 came with another issue. PS3 tended to overheat, but PS4 refused to boot up which came to be known as the BLOD ‘blue light of death’ syndrome kind of similar to the Red Ring of Death phenomenon which plagues the Xbox.

Sony (NYSE:SNE) did address the blue light issue saying that the users should continue to play in Safe Mode until they looked into it.Sony (NYSE:SNE) often revises versions of its products, like the revised version of the PS3 console which was ultra slim but gave off a cheap feel and did not look durable. There’s speculation whether or not there will be a revised edition of the PS4.Sony (NYSE:SNE) should invest in analog stick covers. They make playing easier and Sony often replaces them if you still have the warranty.

Even though it’s not exactly a big deal, an improvement like that in the revised version would surely enhance the gaming experience. The question is, what other improvements should be seen in the PS4? Should the company make them smaller, more compact, sleeker and cooler looking? Put in a new cooling system? Not that there’s any problems with the current ventilation system. It works better than the fan in the Play Station 3 console but the fan in PS4 works better if given proper ventilation.

Maybe Sony (NYSE:SNE)could make a PS4 where the button controls are properly labeled. In the current model, there is only one singe bar and the users have to memorize the placement of the button .Die-hard fans should have no issues with memorizing the functions on the bar but not everyone can do that. It’s a minor annoyance, from a gamer’s point of view. But new users but find this feature bothersome.

The present look and feel of the PlayStation 4 is visually pleasing to the eyes. They’re sleek and look attractive. The diagonal design is a great touch. If Sony (NYSE:SNE) is to make a new version of the PS4 it should keep the diagonal design as it’s quite popular. Not much can be said at this point in time, as users are mostly satisfied with the current version of the PS4.

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) are the worlds’ top most websites according to Amazon’s Alexa web traffic tracker. Google (NASDAQ:GOOG)proves to be the world’s most used search engine app. Having usage of 88% Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)is the world’s top most social network with almost 1.39 billion users monthly. Both are using advertising as their main publicity, it is said that Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)is planning to disturb Google (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s eco system in a big way.

How is that going to happen? Let’s discuss the strategic planning which is the Concealed OS on Facebook (NASDAQ:FB).Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)does not have a mobile OS which most of the other corporations like Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) enjoy. About two years back Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)tried to build up mobile OS with Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)home.

This could be the substitution launcher for Android but the app failed and no Android device could be transformed to Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)phone app. So Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)concentrated on building an invisible OS through its connected services. Parse was bought back in 2013, an mBaaS (mobile backend as a service) that gave Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)connections certain apps including user authentication, push notifications, and data analytics on varied mobile devices and platforms.

Parse is paid highly, while it is still unsegregated with Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)app install ads in the newsfeed. Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)obtained substitution profit from app sales by charging iOS and Android developers together for News Feed ads and mBaaS subscriptions through Parse. EversinceFacebook (NASDAQ:FB)got hold of Parse, its hosted apps raised upto 500,000 from 60,000. Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)’s ecosystem is enhancing its Messenger app.

With 500 million users is turning into a podium for dedicated apps. Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)has now unveiled the payment feature of messenger which makes it at the level of eBay’s PayPalandVenmo, Square Cash, and Google Wallet. This development is going to bring Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)messenger in comparison with Tencent’s WeChat, which have developed mini-app ecosystems within Android and iOS. Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)’s SSO (single sign-on) strategy is again an impeccable development.

SSO’s are widely used by both Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)and Google (NASDAQ:GOOG)in crafting ads because traditionally cookies are not designed to follow users across devices. Now this SSO strategy is definitely holding up Google (NASDAQ:GOOG)giving it a setback. Google+,which is in competition with Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)as social network has 2.2 billion users, but mostly it has inactive accounts which were just registered in order to activate their Android devices.

Analysts believe only 9% of the account meaning 198 million people have posted something or any related content on Google+. In January 2015 just 6.6 million users were active. Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)is surely far more stretched out in social networking definitely through SSO’s. Another main technique is that Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)allows users to embed their videos on other sites like Google’s Youtube.

American airline Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) has received positive reviews from the financial analysts. Argus, an analys, is of the view that the shares of the company are worth buying as the fuel rates go down. Delta’s (NYSE:DAL) stock valuation is $55, which is so far the lowest price target specified. The company’s stock increased by 32% during the last fiscal year but decreased around 8.6% this year.

The airlines company is thinking about renovating and improving its fleet with five new rows of comfortable passenger seats and to make energy efficient airplanes. Its intention is to facilitate its customers further with extra services like WiFi. It is growing on an international level by making joint ventures with other companies. It is estimated that the annual rate of growth through investments would be 20% by 2020.

Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) generated $37.773 billion in revenue in 2013. It was also considered as the world’s largest airline in terms of passengers as it accommodated 120.6 million travelers in 2013. The company was awarded by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2008 for using eco friendly PreKote. Delta Airlines (NYSE:DAL) had undertaken environmental friendly steps to prevent corrosion on its aircrafts by using non hexavalent chromium surface pretreatment instead of toxic chemicals in its paints.

Moreover, Prekote also minimized water consumption during painting process of the airplanes; a step that helped in saving about $1million per annum. The oil prices are expected to be $2.25 to 2.35 per gallon in 2015, which are comparatively lower than last year’s rates. The decreased prices will save around $2 billion in forthcoming days. More crude oil at cheaper rates will be purchased, approximately $55.57 per barrel.

Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) also provides cargo services in United States and across the globe. Through utilization of cargo space in passenger aircrafts, it generates the cargo profits in both national and international levels. It is also affiliated with SkyTeam Cargo, which presents its customers with worldwide product line and has networking in six continents.

Its international airports function in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Cininnati, Detroit, Minnerpolis-St.Paul, NewYork LaGuardia, NewYork- JFK, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Tokyo-Narita. Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) has United Airlines, Continental Airlines, Air Canada and British Airways as competitors.

The company has multiple businesses sprouting from its Airline business. Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) deals in aircraft repairs and maintenance, recruitment services for third parties, holiday wholesale operations and private aircraft operations. Delta Private Jets provides aircraft leases, administration and programs permitting members to acquire air travel time by hour.

Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) had suffered a loss in the profit in last couple of years, but investors believe that the situation is now reversed. The maximum estimated target price is $80.50. The percentage of the company’s debt to equity is 1.11 which is acceptable in huge industries such as the airline industry. The shares of Delta Airlines, Inc (NYSE: DAL) are getting higher to $45.86 seen on Monday trade.

According to general agreement of the analysts, the twelve months business range would be $30.12 to $51.06.

General MotorsCompany (NYSE:GM) recently released a picture of its new Chevy Malibu 2016, a sedan which will be revealed at the New York International Auto Show this week.

Now the question on everyone’s minds is will this new car be able to compete with Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), ToyotaMotor Corp (NYSE:TM) and Honda Motor Company (NYSE:HMC)?

The Chevy Malibu 2016 isn’t exactly a bad model, per se, but the market segment General Motors Company’s (NYSE:GM) targeting using this sedan has already been dominated by Ford’s Fusion.

The Fusion (also known as the Mondeo in some countries) has received numerous commendations worldwide for its design and comfy interior. But if you compare the current Malibu with Fusion or any other model, like Camry or Accord, italmost pales a bit in comparison. There’s no denying that it may be a good car, but it isn’t good enough for people to switch over from a FordMotor Company (NYSE:F) or Honda Motor Company (NYSE:HMC) car to the Malibu.

Features of the Chevy Malibu 2016

The Chevy Malibu 2016 has had some improvements over its predecessors. The new model is longer and lighter. The base of the car is also a few inches longer than the previous ones, adding more space in the backseat. The model is also said to 300 pounds lighter, despite its additional length.

Another unique feature of this redesigned model is the Teen Driver feature, which parents will surely love and teenagers will definitely hate. Once the Teen Driver feature is activated, it will log in every detail. A Malibu with Teen Driver can also track: the distance driven, the maximum speed at which the car was driven, the number of speeding warning issued by the car itself if the child decided to speed. The Teen Driver feature will also lower the volume of the music system if it detects that the driver or front seat passenger is not wearing a seatbelt; a crafty way to get teenagers into keeping their seatbelts on inside the car at all times. The Teen Driver feature also limits the volume of music in the car; music played above acceptable volume levels is damaging to the ears and causes noise pollution.

This time around, General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) focused on durability. The track record for resilience regarding General Motors Company’s (NYSE:GM) cars hasn’t been stellar. Durability testing has been going well so far.

More attention should have been paid to the car’s design. It’s not bad, it’s stylish and all, but there’s nothing exactly eye-catching. It’s not the type of car that would immediately catch your attention and hold it. General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) will have to do something to make it stand out like Ford Motor Company(NYSE:F) did with its own models. General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) may have paid attention to the interior and durability and added another feature, but they should have invested more time on the appearance of the Malibu.General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) also promises that the new Malibu will have as much mileage as its challengers Fusion and Camry.

Now with all these features in check, we can assume that this model will perform better than the previous ones. But the competition is tough. For the Malibu to succeed it will have to make huge sales. The market segment will be difficult to penetrate as it has been captured by FordMotor Company (NYSE:F), Toyota Motor Corp.(NYSE:TM) and Honda Motor Company (NYSE:HMC).

A statement from CEO Mary Barra declares that they are done aiming for ‘good enough.’ Is this an indicator that General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) has something special planned? If that is indeed the case, then we will find out about it soon enough.

Before the markets opened on Friday, BlackBerry Ltd. (NASDAQ:BBRY) announced its Q4 earnings along with the earnings of fiscal 2015. The company had earned a diluted EPS amounting to $0.04 for the $660 million revenues. Last year during the same period, the company made a loss for each share amounting to $0.08 for its $976 million revenue.

The Q4 results of the company are compared to its consensus estimate loss per share at $0.05 with revenue of $786.42 million. The company had made revenue of $3.3 billion for the whole year with a loss amounting to $0.09/share compared to the $6.81 billion revenue and $1.35 net loss for the year before. Analysts thought that the loss per share would be somewhere near $0.16 for $3.47 billion revenues.

With a GAAP basis, the Q4 EPS of the company amounted to $0.05 contrasted to the loss per share at $0.80 for 2013’s Q4. The adjusted net-income amounted to $20 million with the GAAP net income at $28 million. The adjustments were inclusive of $108 million charges for its restructuring and debenture charges. There was also a $115 million amount of investment income from the Rockstar business sale.

Hardware revenue for the company’s sales was 1.3 million in phones to distribution channels which were down in the quarter from the previous 2 million to the one before. The units of sell through amounted to 1.6 million with a 1.9 million sequential decline. The selling price average for these phones increased from the previous $180 for the Q3 to the new $211 amount to the Q4.

The company made free cash flows amounting to $76 million for this quarter which was much better than its outflow of cash amounting to $784 million for the previous year.

There is ongoing effort in the company in order to expand distribution capability. There is a target on the sustainable profitability of non-GAAP in 2016. This is sort of similar to the company’s outlook of the previous quarter’s end.

The company’s consensus for its Q1 of 2016 stands at a loss per share amounting to $0.03 and its revenues are at $813.76 million. Analysts think that the company will have a loss per share amounting to $0.09 for revenues at $3.28 billion.

The profit will definitely surprise investors; however hardware sales may cause revenue to remain modest. Therefore the conclusion might as well be that the company had reached this point through effective cost cutting methods.

Purchase orders totaled $394 million when Q4 ended as reported by the company. This amount was $565 million lower sequentially. This goes to show you that hardware sales are likely going to fade. A positive point is that there are 48.8% of adjusted gross margins which is why the selling price is higher compared to the lower amount of costs.

The company’s consensus target price amounted to $9.15. The company’s stock closed Thursday at $9.30 which was down from the day before the company had announced its Q3 earnings in December.
