The multibillionaire groceries and departmental items providing company, Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), appears to have reached its maximum market volume in the United States. However, according to analysts, the company still has a huge market potential outside of the United States, which means the company should now expand internationally and target different market regions in the World.

This is why the company has expanded to different markets around the World including Japan, Mexico and China. The company’s market in China appears to be crumbling and has failed to make any major breakthrough this year. Problems like food scandals, falling sales, and accounting infractions have become a common problem for the company’s China branches. The problems have appeared really fast and are major in nature.

The problems are of serious nature since the company has now been operating in China for 18 years and has only managed to contribute 2% revenue to the overall revenue of Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT),.

According to the latest analysis reports the company has some major cracks in its retail businesses and the problems developing for years, have been greatly neglected by the management. The company’s words ran hollow after it declared China market to be the best and most potential of all and subsequently openly admitting its worst performance in China. Therefore the prevailing question now is whether the investment in China is a good idea or a bad one?

The company appears to have problems in developing understanding of the Chinese people for the purposes of planning its strategies and objectives. The company provides extremely low priced retail chains across the World including China, which anyhow does not work very well in China. The Chinese consumers claim that the company sells cheap products with a perception that it has low quality.

The company also appears to have some compliance issues as well and has been under fire from health and safety regulatory authorities several times. Such issues affected the company’s growth several times. The company once passed on non-organic food items labeling them as organic. While in 2014 the five spice donkey meat allegedly contained the fox DNA raising a whole lot of questions on the company. The company has badly broken the consumers’ trust and now a large number of consumers in China think that the company follows a different set of standards for China.

The company also reported to have compliance issues in accounting when it placed inventories with wrongly labeled prices. The faulty accounting compliance occurred to mark higher prices, to inflate profits.

Presently Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), China is in the process of reviving its previous status of efficiency and precise effectiveness with profit making objectives. The company has closed almost 20 to 30 different stores across the country and announced to cut jobs in merchandise and marketing by a number of 250. The company has also posted the executive managerial officers, in order to contain the situation.

The company currently operates with more than 400 chains in China alone with the third largest market share in the country, while its sales are crumbling. According to analysts, Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), should adapt with a few latest technological local companies and should hire their services in order to appear keen. China has a huge scope of ecommerce which can be effectively utilized.

After witnessing a consistent slump for the past two years, Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is finally regaining its market strength. The past quarter brought ascension of almost 12 percent in the past month. Investors are curious whether Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) has found stability, managed to turn its tables or was this 12 percent surge just a fluke? Here’s what analysts have to think about it. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) has been experiencing cut throat competition in the past two years because of the tremendous rise of dollar general and family dollar chains.

These chains became the new convenient destination for customers to get good bargains. Convenience stores also found itself small market to keep the cash flowing. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), on the other hand, found itself being isolated and running almost on its past reputation. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) was lacking innovation; hence it turned to small format stores which didn’t beget the company any substantial sales. On top of that, the waning economy also took a toll on the self proclaimed ‘King of Retail’.

Although these small format stores didn’t boost the sales instantly, they certainly helped the company recover from the slump. These stores housed the most popular items that were usually required by the customers and hence became supercenters for customers to go to and grab what they’re looking for. Another thing that helped Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) was the online channel. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) has always vouched for technology as a platform to expand business.

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) roped in numerous small tech firms to attract and engage customers at a high level. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) still invests a lot in its technological infrastructure. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) spent 800 million dollars on its e-commerce this year with the announcement that the company would be spending 1 billion in the next fiscal year. This clearly shows the company’s dedication towards to e-commerce, which indeed, is the future of the retail business.

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) has enhanced the shopping experience by introducing its own online grocery channel which is all about the essence of convenience for the customers. It is highly appreciated in the market and has been catalyzed the push Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) so desperately needed since the past couple of years. Investors are keenly observing Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT)’s stock. Though it still isn’t as formidable as investors would have wanted but the boost has made it clear that Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) still has the power to convert a failure into a success.

But investors would like to wait it out and see how the stock performs in the next year, or at least in the initial months; because Investors wouldn’t want to board a ship that isn’t consistent in its sail. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) has been in the retail business for a long time and it is too soon to pass any judgment on its business policies but it’s one of those companies that is fond of technology which can tell you that Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is aware of the era change and is keen to change with it.

On November 13th, Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) made an announcement in which the company claimed that it will be accepting price match from selected manufacturers which included Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN). Following this announcement, several customers went ahead and bought PlayStation 4 console which is worth $400 for a price as low as $100. The transactions were made possible by using Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) listings that were phony. Users posted pictures of receipts which showed the price of PS4 to be as low as $90.

The consumers just did not take advantage of the Wal-Mart’s (NYSE:WMT) price-match policy on purchase of PlayStation 4 alone but the miss-use went beyond that as well. However, the customers might find exploiting the company again a bit harder in the future.

Edgar Dworsky, creator of ConsumerWorld.org said that Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) should trust the customers but verify the prices as well.

On Wednesday, CNBC came across more data of the price-match scam via Twitter (NYSE:TWTR). The data contained more pictures of receipts for PS4s priced at $90 as well as for Xbox 1 console and games priced as cheap as $100. While on one hand, there were pictures of receipts on Twitter (NYSE:TWTR), on the other hand, many users had posted pictures suggesting that Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) was now aware of the scam and is paying attention to details. One of the pictures had an in-store sign that said that Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) PS4 price matches will not be accommodated anymore because of the scam.

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) on Wednesday announced that the company will price-match some of the Black Friday deals from its competitors starting November 21st; this will include deals on PS4 as well. The company however, did not reveal the names of other stores that it would be price-matching with.

As per a report by CNBC.com, creating a product sale listing is very easy for any person who has an account with Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN). A screen shot of the listing can be shown at the time of check out to get price matched and that is sufficient enough to carry out a scam. Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has not yet said anything about this ability of its members of getting a screen shot for price-matching products until now.

Dworsky said that mostly frauds related to price-matching are not easy to pull off. It is a hassle because most of the time the store clerk or cashier is not authorized to price-match products for the customers. A manager has to be present at the time of check out to supervise the process of price-matching.

Brent Shelton a representative of FatWallet.com said that one of the reasons why shoppers don’t do frauds is because it is a lot of work. He said that it is much easier to take advantage of any loopholes that might be present in the company’s policies or pricing.

Earlier on, the companies did not even accept online prices for price-matching. This trend was started about a year ago and even now only selected online retailers are included in price-matching policies.

World’s most successful retailer Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) have secured profits in its third quarter of the year but the Company needs help regarding its domestic saturation, sluggish sales, image problem, mixed international results and operational efficiency.

Its Comparable Store Sales have seen an increase of 0.5% domestically and 0.4% in domestic Sam’s clubs. Total sales of the company are reported to be more than $118.1 billion this year, which is an increase of 2.8% over the previous year. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) showed an increase in earnings from $4.92 to $5.02.

Despite this results Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) needs to deal with some problems in order to survive in the long run. Opening new markets in urban centers in the US has become a big challenge for the retailer. After years of US market expansion Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is running out of real estate. Half of the Americans already live 10 minute drive away from a Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) store; this is mainly due to the retailers 1988 strategy of opening as many superstores as possible – a successful strategy so far – but now things have changed as the competition and saturation has increased and it has become harder and harder to find places to erect new stores.

Normally a business dominates a market when it opens more stores in densely populated urban areas. Unfortunately Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) stores are already in dense urban areas where the Company’s big box format is an unlikely fit. Even if the company locates a suitable site it still has to face opposition from the neighborhood concerned about traffic congestion and negative impact on local stores and merchants.

According to a few reports traffic within existing stores has slowed down and it has become a challenge to attract more loyal customers. The company has also been facing problems to stay in the Global competition, which is already home to numerous other retailers. Expanding Worldwide according to some experts has become vital for the company, which they consider is a remedy to domestic saturation. Wal-Mart’s (NYSE:WMT) operations in Germany and South Korea have already been shattered by the local competition.

Wal-Mart’s (NYSE:WMT) Japanese subsidiary also continues to lose money. Another genuine concern for the company is its image and goodwill problem, which in the recent years have started to decline. According to a survey many Americans think that Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is evil and for now the company’s focus should be on retaining its declined reputation and rebuilding itself as a good corporate citizen by working more on Corporate Social Responsibility.

The company’s image mainly declined because of strikes and protests against its waging policy, which according to the employees of Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) is not fair at all. The recent health budget cuts also didn’t do well for the retailer’s image in the market.

The company also suffers from lack of operational efficiency and doesn’t have much equity in its supply chain. Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) needs to find new opportunities to reduce its costs, and should work on its supply chains to eliminate inefficiencies. Moreover Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) announced plans, a long time ago, to establish radio frequency identification technology, but still has not done anything about it.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) is doing pretty well; you will be sorry if you bet against the company. If anyone suggests that the company is going down then they are lying or wrong. Just this morning, the company performed better than expected. They earned $1.15 per share compared to the expected price of $1.12 a share.

In the pre-market trade, the stock increased. The skeptics will probably point out that the revenue generated is not so great. This is probably right. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) announced recently that they will carry on the promotions for Christmas throughout the year, every year. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) is a company that has complete market penetration. For a company such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT), such promos will not help increase growth.

This is not about the company Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) though. This is about its stock. The CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT), Doug McMillan talked about the seasonal shoppers. He said that the performance of the company is very encouraging in the holiday season. The back-to-school shopping session was quite strong and the Halloween season was also a success. This means that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) had a good quarter overall.

The Halloween was strong at the low end of consumer retail. The customers at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WMT) don’t buy silly costumes without good reason.

Macy’s (NASDAQ:M)’s stocks increased by 5%. For the first time in about six years, the company missed its estimates. This is actually all about supply and demand. In the last few months, Macy’s (NASDAQ:M)’s stock saw two large flushouts. This brought out the skeptics. However, when the company proved itself by coming out better than expected, all the skeptics had to find a way to cover up their criticism.

Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU)’s shares increase by 5% yesterday after they announced that women were interested in yoga pants. In three months, the stock increased by 15%. However, for the current fiscal, the increase in stock is still in the negative. Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU)’s supporters have placed their bets on the company. The skeptics do not accept the fact that Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU) is the kind of company that does not have to be great in order to beat others in a game. Strong consumers will help sell the yoga pants for the company. Even if one considers the worst case scenario, the company will still have something to hold on to – the demand of the customers. This proves that the company can easily beat others and is a good bet. Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU) is a very strong company.

The supporters of Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU) have buying more stocks on their agendas; they are not thinking too much about the prospect, knowing that the company is a sure win. This clearly shows that the company’s projections will be great. The buying rate of Lululemon (NASDAQ:LULU)’s stocks is enough to silence the skeptics and give them food for thought. However, if they are still not satisfied, they should really think again.
