Drones:Facebook, Google And Amazon Have New Way Of World Connectivity

Mark Zuckerberg is ready to establish solar-powered flying drones in air to provide wireless internet connections to the remote areas after establishing social networking site with name of Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) on earth. And the company is in talks with New Mexico-based Titan Aerospace for buying it in about $60m.

According to manufacturer, internet connections will be provided in Africa with11,000 Solara 60 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by Facebook and each one of these 60-metre-wide drones can remain in air fly for five years along with 100kg weight. It is also said that over a circular area of roughly 2,800km sq (1,000mile sq) in size can get signals from each Solara 60 in back and forth position.
The sources familiar with matter said that satellite-like communications to Earthlings can be provided by Titan’s drones as they can fly at vast heights of about19.8km or 65,000ft and that is why named as”atmospheric satellites”. Facebook CEO is highly abmbitioys about this project to connect remote areas of world.

However, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) started its own web connectivity program with name of Project Loon by using balloons that would float in the stratosphere and made internet connections. This project is run by Google’s skunk works lab, Google X. Project Link is another Google project that builds fiber optic networks that offers faster connection speeds to local Internet service providers. In Kampala, Uganda, the first test of the Project was experimented.

In the meantime, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) unveiled its own drone project as a substitute of broadband for sending packages. Small flying robots will be used by Amazon Prime Air to send packages within 30 minutes which is announced in December last year. In 2013, Mr. Zuckerberg unveiled Internet.org program with objective of providing Internet access to two-thirds of the world’s population that remains offline with collaboration of tech companies including QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) and Samsung Electronics Co.
