Google (GOOG) Cloud Platform Partner Program Is In Process Of Upgradation

On Thursday, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) unveiled the expansion of Google Cloud Platform Partner Program as the company tries to enrol the channel that will expand its business away from search option only. The updates will divide its partners into three levels: Authorized Partner, Registered Company and Premier Partner.

The rarest resource at Google can only be accessed by Premier Partners. According to the company, the creation of these tiers is the first step to build up partner community so they can offer the best possible experiences for everyone. In July 2012, the company unveiled this project and since then it has been introducing new cloud services and reducing costs as it is trying to create a competitive business that fights with Windows Azure and Amazon Web Services.

But the company is facing one wrong insight about this cloud service that the company may just plunge its service at some point and will focus on some other programs as in the past it has done with accepted services including paid-for schemes like Google Answers and Google Reader.

For the Registered Company partner, the companies can sign up for free with some Google cloud users but to enjoy the allure of some Google training and marketing then they’ll have to be investing over $12,000 in Google-related revenue to become an Authorized Partner. And companies will have to invest over $120,000 a year to enjoy co-selling services with Google.
All these partners are divided into two groups like in past that include Technology Partners and Services Partners. These include companies that either build and sell individual services that use Google in the backend or resell Google’s expertise.

In terms of information distribution, this partner program is like a double road as Google will provide private information about its future plans to partners and at the same time Google will also get information what customers are asking for and what they are not liking about the channel through partners.
