Could Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone be ugly?

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), ever since its existence, has been the front-runner in the market when it came to product design. It gave a new meaning to gadgets by making them look outstanding; such was the case with everything from desktops, down to small mp3 players. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is counting on making the same impact on the market with its latest addition – the iWatch. But this year round, rumor has it, that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) didn’t live up to the design standards that it has set for the company as well as its diehard customer base. Could it help Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) to reassess the market and find out what the customer really wants?

Garrett Murray, with his sharp attention to detail, has pointed out that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is making efforts to hide the camera pushing out from the back. Edited images of the original designs of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are being displayed on their website with the camera bump gone.

One good look at the product’s pictures on the site proves this as true; Murray’s claims are spot on. While in the real design, the sleek look of the phone is interrupted by the protruding camera; the website shows one that’s entirely smooth.

If Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) believes editing images will save them, they are mistaken. This is in fact, a move that will go against them; why would they wish to mislead their audience and potential customers?

While some images clearly show the bulge, it has disappeared in the other images completely. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is making it look like they are embarrassed by the details and design of their latest gadget. It not only gives an untrue image of the phone, but also breaches the contract of trust with their loyal customers.

It’s not really the camera that is causing this issue; it is in fact the extremely thin structure of the phone that gives the camera no choice but to bulge out. The camera simply does not have enough room to fit into the new ‘streamlined profile’ of the iPhone. One would then think and ask why Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) felt the need to go slimmer to the point where it could not handle the overall design. The thickness of the iPhones was never criticized; it was, on the other hand, its brief battery life. It would probably have been a better move to give the phones more battery time to go with their previous thickness.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), in all its endeavors, has always been thought of as the company that caters to what the customers need, rather than simply satisfying what they think they want. The company seems to have played the cards slightly wrong this time around. A thinner phone was not what the customer needed; it was the poor battery life. Even a better camera, fitted into a thicker body would have worked just fine, instead of the new camera quality in the new super thin phone.

Additionally, the area of concern that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) should have taken into consideration is the RAM. iPhone 6 offers only 1GB RAM, which has proven to be a disappointment among users.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) might be rewarded for having the thinnest device to date 6.9 mm and 7.1 mm, but it still has some explaining to do for the edited marketing images used on its website.
