Before unveiling the name of the new Windows operating system to a room full of reports, the CEO of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) suggested that the name might be Windows One since it will be a single operating system that will be able to run a variety of devices.  Choosing and settling on the name Windows 10, he explained, was to show that this new OS is taking a step forward and reaching beyond the previous systems.

It is noted that close to 1.5 billion individuals, worldwide, currently use Windows boasts Terry Myerson, the CEO of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).

Windows 8 did not make the positive impact that was expected and just over 6% of PC users updated to Windows 8.  The design of the Windows 8 OS failed to catch the attention of many users because they were unwilling to accept the removal of the Start button that should appear on the bottom left corner of the screen.

Terry Myerson said the company needs a fresh start and sings of the praises of this new operating system and the ease of its use.

Windows 10 will feature a single platform where applications can be easily located, purchased and updated whether you are using a tablet, cell phone, desktop or laptop computer.

This new operating system will be available to the general public, but it was specifically designed for large businesses.   Accordingly to Myerson, business will be able to easily manage all their machines operating with Windows 10 via a centralized software program.  In essence, operators will be able to create a personalize app store that can be accessed by all employees.

Joseph Belfiore, the vice president of Microsoft’s operating system department, proudly was showing users how to navigate through the application of the Windows 10 operating system at a San Francisco, CA press conference.

This new operating system is the best of both worlds, it is the combination of a traditional start up window that Windows 7 had and it will still have the modern look and colorful tiles that Windows 8 users have experienced.

Mr. Belfiore said the company is not giving up on switching totally touch screen devices.  Their ultimate goal is to find a balance that will appeal to both touch screen users and individuals that prefer the use of traditional keyboards.

Testing will begin this week and the final release of Window 10 is expected mid to late in the year 2015.  Once the first shipment has been released, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has said that updates will be continually released.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) opened today at 46.37 and at 3:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, it is holding at 46.15.  The market cap is 381.59 B and the 52 week outlook ranges between 32.70 and 47.57.  This company is 72% inst. owned.
