The newly launched Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) android software nexus Lollipop 5.0 gives advanced features, a brand new look to Nexus 5, 7 and 10 and offers a few bug fixes.

The new operating system android 5.0 Lollipop has been designed with a new look, exclusive material language design bringing in interactive user interface, appealing graphic interface with sharp colors and typography, tactile surface, fluid animation modifications replacement of darvik with ART for performance enhancement. However the newly released android may also have problems.

According to a recently published post on blog phone arena, the developer filed a complaint saying that Nexus 5 after upgrading with Lollipop has encountered connectivity problems. He says that the Nexus 5 that he has been using saves the password but does not connect to the network. According to the reports same problem has been occurring since mid October and is reported by different developers; however this problem has not been reported with Nexus 6. It is also possible that this problem could be specifically related to a version of Lollipop on Nexus 5.

Another general problem reported by users is that the wi-fi bug is dramatically impacting device’s battery life. According to a senior Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) developer the issue could be caused by abnormally high number of IRQ battery wakeup events. He says that Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) hasn’t yet have found any solution to the problem and that his team continues to investigate this issue. Users have also observed that disabling Wi-Fi eliminates the problem so the bug is directly related to Wi-Fi. This is a huge setback for Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) as it had already been experimenting to increase battery life by developing new softwares through its project volta scheme, and was even successful as it achieved the required results through android kitkat 4.4 on Nexus 5.

Lollipop was considered a potential game changer in the field. Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is also yet to officially confirm whether the bug impacts other phones as well or is it just Nexus 5. However until now Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 phablet seem to be unaffected.

Android achieved some quick success in the beginning and was sold to different multinationals but the success was short lived after detection of multiple bugs and problems. The users have also complained about the phone getting slow after being updated specially in Nexus 5, 7 ad 10. Broken wifi connections and abnormal crashes while being plugged into a charger have also been reported. Lag usually occurs after installing apps which require a login.

Some other problems include various issues with cellular data, data gets corrupted after installing the software, different issues with exchange service and Nexus 9 users are complaining about an odd error message after installing the bug update. However many of these problems have come with solutions as well. The lag and slow performance can be eliminated by closing the Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) launcher which increases overall speed as well. Clearing cache partition data is also advised to further enhance the performance.
