In 2014, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has introduced new and exciting things to its OS but some unfortunately since Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) first priority was to mount up Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) pay and to introduce iPhones with even bigger screens not everything could have been done in its iOS8 things lacking in the iOS are highlighted below:
1) Updating the data is too difficult
When it comes to upgrading your OS, your iPhone suddenly wants free space of multiple gigabytes. You can avoid this situation by removing a number of apps but this does not prove to be helpful as you have to download all your apps again.
2) Rollout of iCloud drive is a total disaster
Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) competitor Dropbox seems to be working fine but you shouldn’t use it unless your Mac device has Yosemite. Activating the iCloud drive could result in a total disaster as it will break functionality of your existing documents like keynote and number files which will disappear suddenly on your Mac.
3) Awful Look of Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) calendar
The calendar is not up to the mark as you can’t enter the place and time of any appointment. However, you can fix it by buying a great calendar app from the third-party.
4) Keyboard functionality does not seem to work fine
If you run a third-party keyboard, at times there are no keyboards to show at all. The suggestion bar seems to disappear while running Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) keyboard. But you can get that back by swiping it gently.
5) Need to make the TouchID rollout
There are apps which support the TouchID but Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) still has a second-rate password security system. Typing in the passwords on iPhones every time is painful.
6) Need to work on HealthKit
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) needs to work on its health apps and hence would not be launching this platform just yet. It is still monitoring the applications which would be looking after your health stats.
7) Safari still Can’t Match Chrome’s level
You only have to enter 2-3 words on chrome and the URL is completed for you, well that’s not the case with safari. You have to keep typing for the correct website link with the right answer buried way down in its magic box.
8) iCloud basic storage can’t be made a profit center
16 GB iPhones are the most embarrassing thing from Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the memory storage just isn’t enough. You get a 5 GB iCloud storage free with any kind of device you buy. You can spend $12 a year and get 20 GB that will solve the problem but why isn’t it free of cost? Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) should provide it free of cost as such a small transaction isn’t made by most people on their credit cards or bundle it with some other payment.
This obviously doesn’t rule out the fact that iOS 8 is a big winner but there are rather some points which still need to be fixed.
