The hiveminds don’t really pay must respect for Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and its Xbox 1; however they softened up a bit upon learning that Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is all set to launch its brand new app by the name of ‘ReddX’.

The objective of this Reddit app, which has been specially designed for Xbox, is to bring the link-sharing website to its Xbox One platform. ReddX was launched on Tuesday through a live stream that gave out all the details of the app and its use. The strangely named app is hoping to bring a new generation of Xbox lovers together and give them a completely different experience.

Most of the feedback regarding the app has been positive, but the winner has been Major Nelson doing a few meme poses. Adding this features shows how well Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) understands what its customers want. The launch as once again has the world talking about Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and its ability to keep introducing things that draw in more customer base.

ReddX will have a variety of features that will interest more than one segment of customers; the app will allow the users to have a customized main page along with access to every subreddit.  From the main page customers can view images, read text, see videos and enjoy GIF animation along with a few other features.

It has a sleek appeal and promises to be a sucess. However, it mostly depends on how the tech-savvy community receives the app; with so many options in the market the competition is tough. Most of the website applications do not adapt well to consoles, which is the biggest concern for Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) as well. Even with top notch designs, customers may prefer using Reddit on desktop computers, tablets or smart phones because of its user friendly interface and other features.

The good news for Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) at the moment is that the online community it created for the app had over 5 billion viewers last month. This was one accomplishment that the company didn’t enjoy at its launch of Xbox one.

Popularity of Reddit is so unbelievable that some of the customers claim that they might buy the Xbox just to experience ReddX on it. However a few others are not too thrilled as the ads created by the company did very little to entice them into going for Xbox ReddX. But the encouraging bit is that positive reactions to the app outnumbered the negative wibes.

As mentioned before Major Nelson is the biggest attraction for the Reddit users. If for nothing else, they might be forced to give the app a try just for the sake of their beloved Major. All eyes are on Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and the question is how well will the app be received in the market.
