General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) said its 50-50 joint venture company CFM International has won a $3.3 billion order from easyJet for 270 engines to power its Airbus A320neo family aircraft and for additional A320ceo aircraft. The venture, in which Snecma owns the other 50%, said the airline has also purchased rights for an additional 100 A320neo aircraft. GE was higher nearly 1% recently, in the upper half of the 52-week range between $22.92 and $28.09.

3M Co (NYSE:MMM) has appointed Dr. Ashish K. Khandpur as senior vice president, Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. Dr. Khandpur replaces Dr. Frederick J. Palensky, who is retiring after a 37-year career with the company.

Dr. Khandpur joined 3M in 1995 in the company’s adhesive technology center in St. Paul. He was promoted various times during his tenure at the company. Dr. Khandpur’s most recent leadership role was vice president and general manager for 3M’s Personal Safety Division.

Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE:HON), a diversified technology and manufacturing company, has completed the sale of its Friction Materials business to Federal-Mogul in a cash transaction valued at approximately $155 million. The transaction did not include the Bendix name, or line of products or business in the United States.

The company said that joint ventures which operate in Australia, Thailand, and Malaysia would be retained, as would Honeywell’s ownership of the non-operating sites in Conde, France and Guangzhou, China. The company said it would also realign its Transportation Systems business segment with its Aerospace business segment to better take advantage of the engineering and technology similarities and the shared business models between these two business segments.

Under the realigned segment reporting structure, the company will have three business segments; Aerospace, Automation and Control Solutions, and Performance Materials and Technologies. Shares in Honeywell were up 0.55% to $95.42 on Monday morning. Over the past 52 weeks, the company has traded between $78.88 and $96.49.
