The chief executive of Kuddle, a photo sharing app targeted towards children and teenagers, said that the app would be successful in gathering around 1 million users by the end of the year 2014. It is pertinent to note here that Kuddle is an app akin to Instagram and it plans to snatch the younger users of the latter app.
The chief executive of Kuddle said that the app successfully generated around $2 million in investments and funds. The company is in the process of hiring staff for its head quarters in Silicon Valley.
Moreover, Kuddle expects to generate an additional $8 million by the next one or two months. According to the latest news, the app is available in 9 different languages right now. The company is in a process to make further improvements and design new versions of the app, which will be released soon. The CEO of Kuddle expects the demand to go up even further in the last quarter of the year 2014.
Kuddle, a Nigerian app, allows parents to monitor their children’s web activities. It also keeps them in loop as to what their kids are postings and accessing. Moreover, the app keeps the restricted stuff away from the kids and it prevents the strangers from accessing or sharing any of the pictures that the kid has posted.
However, the app does not have the features of comments and hashtags in order to keep the online bullying in check. Similarly, the likes on the photos are also kept anonymous.
Kuddle has seen huge success in the regions of Unites States and Norway. However, the progress of Kuddle is not bad in the countries of Saudi Arabia and India as well. In fact, the business of the app is significantly increasing in the latter two countries. The company is now hiring staff in order to extend its language features so as to include the language of these two countries as well.
The founder of Kuddle, who is also the chairperson of the company, Kathryn Baker, said that the company is very satisfied with its growth rate. She further commented that Kuddle’s uptake is remarkable as the app is seeing a growth rate of 10 to 15 percent daily.
The app itself is free of any costs; the company expects to gather revenues through the launch of its in-app store. The store would allow the sale of secure mobile devices together with some impressive packages from the leading mobile phone brands and their operators.
The chief executive officer of Kuddle, Ole Vidar Hestaas, said that the company is in the negotiation process with 2 of the biggest international mobile phone manufacturer companies. The CEO further said the company is in talks with some of the major cellular operators in the region of Europe for safe Kuddle subscriptions. These subscriptions will give parent more control over the data and network use of their children.
Kuddle has Suzann Pettersen, a Norwegian golf player, and a number of European and U.S. capital venture funds as its investors.
