13

American Airlines Group Inc (NASDAQ:AAL) shares edged higher in recent trade after saying it has reached three tentative agreements with the International Association of Machinists (IAM) union covering more than 11,000 U.S. Airways mechanics, fleet service agents and maintenance training specialists.

AAL is trading in the upper half of the 52-week range between $23.45 and $44.43.

The three-year agreements are still subject to members’ ratification.

The deals, if approved, will lead to joint collective bargaining negotiations for the IAM and their colleagues at the Transport Workers Union (TWU) to cover more than 30,000 employees at the new American Airlines.

American Airlines said negotiations for a joint flight attendant agreement are underway. In addition, unions for pilots, flight attendants and customer service agents have filed petitions with the National Mediation Board for single carrier status determination to resolve union representation.
