Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) announced on Thursday that it will be acquiring the U.K. startup firm, Movirtu which is an innovative company based on mobile technology and virtual SIM solutions. The softwares of Movirtu let its customers use numerous numbers in a single device without having to go through the hassle of switching Sims. The biggest convenience is that billing, text messaging and other services can be separated.

Buying Movirtu will be very strategic move on the part of Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) to help it rebuild its service portfolio, to cater to the basic needs of its corporate and administrative clients. The company has not yet revealed the details of the agreement yet. By using Movirtu’s services, it will be easier for lets say the IT department to block certain emails, messages and calls on a business number after work time ends. However, at the same time, the phone would allow private calls, messages and emails.

John Sims, president of the Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) enterprise, stated in one of his interviews that buying Movirtu fits in very effectively with the approach the company has decided to pursue. The company has vowed to provide unique services to its pool of core clients by putting revenue earnings in creating value-added programs for them.

Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY), once the leader in the smartphone market, is now far behind as Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone and a bunch of other android devices have overtook their momentum. Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) is trying to revamp itself since last year to make a place for itself again in the smartphone market.

There has been a drastic improvement in Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) since the new chief executive officer John Chen took over. The company has reformed itself by leaps and bounds as they sold some assets which were not making money and have made strategic partnerships with other businesses.

John Chen is a well-known and highly respected executive, known as the inversion artist in the field of technology. He has now tried to be a consistent force to reckon with in the world of smartphones. His main focus now is to revamp his company in terms of its basic strengths and to emphasize on features like device management and data security.

Within a few months, Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) has made a lot of changes by offering its contributions to its government and enterprise consumers. These clients have been loyal users of the Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) phone and hence should be finally rewarded for their loyalty and patience.

The company also announced that it will acquire the German firm called Secusmart. This private firm is based on data security and voice encryption. This step will surely help Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) to polish its reputation with government agencies whose primary concern is the safety and security of everything that goes in and out of their Sim.

John Sims stressed in an interview that Blackberry (NASDAQ:BBRY) is trying its best to come ahead in a market which is now saturated with many rivals offering many services hence their collaboration with Movirtu and Secusmart.
