Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Healthkit Fan Hype!

139

Although the new IPhone 6 will not be available in the market till Friday, its operating system will be launched today.  The latest health software called the Healthkit is just a few hours away from becoming public. Christina Farr says the Stanford University among others is using this app as a trial to test blood sugar levels and body temperatures. Every user is excited about this app being launched with their new iPhone.

Stanford has only put two patients on the trial for this app and the results have not yet been shared. Although this app can be revolutionary, the results do not suggest anything as yet. However, the use of this app can lead to a better way of communication between the doctor and patient.

A lot of doctors and medical institutes are looking forward to having the Healthkit as it would make it easier to manage the patient’s database and have a direct means of communication without manual entry error. According to different reports Mayo clinic is using the app on a trial basis right now and thinks the platform featuring new health apps will be amazing.

However, similar to the iWatch, there are a lot of expectations regarding the latest IPhone 6 and the built-in screen sensors, which detect your temperature and blood sugar level. However some say that the expectations related to the HealthKit are unreasonable, some being too good to be true.

Joe Markland has written in his blog, Employee Benefit News, that the step Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has taken is going to change the face of insurance needs. The Healthkit app is going to change the whole process from being employer based to becoming consumer based. This is exactly how it should be, as the actual receivers of the healthcare don’t have a say in the process and the corporations dictate the insurance deals according to what suits them.

However, it is important to note that the monitor sensors used in the IPhone 6 isn’t the first time this technology has been used. It has been in use for about a decade now and text messages were previously used for report deliveries and health financial matters.

It cannot be denied that patient database handling could become easier and efficient in terms of management and delivery by the use of this app. The association of Epic Healthcare, which contains the medical records of patients electronically, with Apple (NASDAQ:APPL) can lead to revolutionary changes in terms of the delivery of client profiles and information literally within a few seconds.

Ricky Bloomfield, who is a physician himself, has also put this strategy into words as how this would help a lot of patients to provide information to doctors without any hassle or delay. But this cannot be confirmed as the adoption of the Healthkit has not yet taken place physically and is only speculation till now. Also, two patients in Stanford’s clinical trial are not enough to take this app to epic levels.
