To build just one iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus, which are the latest communication technology from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), it costs the company approximately $200 to $250 US dollars in labor and parts.   The initial building cost for the iPhone 6 Plus, a larger version of the iPhone 6, will start at just above $215.

This $200 is the cost for a basic device that has 16GB of available storage; of course the price goes up with memory capability.  For instance, for the 64GB model, expect to pay $300 and so on.

Without having a service contract in place, the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 6 sells between $650 and $850, the larger models can be purchased without contract for approximately $950.  For phones that have more memory, expect to pay $100 to $200 more, but realize that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is paying pennies on the dollar.

Once you have purchased the device, it won’t work until a monthly plan is also purchased and locked in for 24 months.  Contracts include the price of a subsidy, which is approximately $500.

According to these numbers, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is turning a profit of $400 on each of their iPhones.

The touchscreen feature and the display unit are the most expensive components on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus ranging from $45 to $53.

This new iPhone has some great features including the ability to add audio and video to any type of message and also the ability to accommodate your typing style, known as double tapping.  Pictures are known as frozen history and who doesn’t love quality photographs.  The camera feature on this device is perfect for anyone that may have a slight hand tremor as all photos will come out perfect.   Similar to high performance professional cameras, the burst mode is available on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus which allows you to take 10 pictures in rapid secession.  The days of shooting, reviewing and deleting are over because with this burst mode feature, you are sure to get a great shot without having to reassemble the group for do-over.

Speaking of shaking hands, if the iPhone is dropped, the specialized glass on the front of the device will keep the phone from shattering into a million pieces.  This is going to save you replacement costs.

The NFC (Near Field Communication) chip is a feature that is new to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones and this special chip activates the Apple Pay features on the phones.  The NFC chips are used to enhance the sensors, accuracy and the interfacing features of the phones.

Overall, products developed by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) are known to be costly, but they are also made with premium quality material.
