According to a report by CrackBerry, it was announced by BlackBerry Ltd.’s (NASDAQ:BBRY) shop that the pre-order supply of the Classic has been sold out in North America prior to its official release. The Classic is being sold online for $449, however it is sold out now in North America and the new stock will come sometime in the start of January 2015. The online stores in U.K, France and Germany still have the Classic available in stock.

Chen has high hopes with the Classic

Chen has been working hard on turning things around for BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) since he became the CEO of the company last year and the Classic is one example of his efforts. Chen has been working on redirecting BlackBerry’s (NASDAQ:BBRY) resources towards the growth of its software, services as well as fulfilling the needs of its clients rather than focusing on making profits in the upcoming fiscal year. Earlier on the company’s main focus had been making profits without giving much thought to the phone’s features or the customer’s demands. Chen has been working on creating a culture at the company where the focus is on fixing things and finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems in the past.

The Canadian company BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) was facing many problems when Chen joined but now the company is aiming at increasing its revenue two-fold to $500 million by getting $100 million in revenue from its BlackBerry messenger. The company wants to achieve this aim by the upcoming fiscal year. In order to keep the cash flowing and to gain profits BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) needs to gain revenue from its flagship phones like the Classic. Chen also acknowledged that in order to gain profit via the hardware, the company needs to sell 10 million smart phones on yearly basis.

When Chen joined the company the work on the Passport was already going on and Chen declared that the Classic is a result of customer’s feedback and demand. BlackBerry Passport was popular amongst customers and hence improvising the feature was a good move by the company. Chen said that BlackBerry Classic includes features that the users already like about the BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) with additional improvements that will make the Classic better. Chen is determined to gain its customers back and is working hard on achieving his goal.

The new BlackBerry Classic is supposed to be the ultimate communication tool with keyboard and navigation keys designed for excellent speed and precision. The phone will have a large square touch screen which will allow fast and appealing web browsing. BlackBerry Classic is supposed to have a great battery life and will have the ability to install Android and BlackBerry apps.

Time will tell whether BlackBerry Classic will be able to impress its users or not and how successful Chen will be in his efforts to turn things around for BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY). However, by looking at the sold out status of the pre-order inventory in North America things seem to be going positive for the company.
