Amazon.com, Inc.(NASDAQ:AMZN) is in ongoing talks with Telefonica (TEF, TEF.MC), Vodafone (VOD, VOD.L) and several other European companies to bring the recently-announced Fire Phone to Europe, Market News Call said citing two sources close to the matter.

Market News Call also noted that Amazon will likely face an uphill battle in Europe as it tries to persuade consumers to choose its smartphone over others made by more established smartphone makers including Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Samsung, and LG. 

Amazon’s international operations bring in approximately 40% of the company’s total annual sales. In afternoon trade, Amazon.com, Inc.(NASDAQ:AMZN) shares were down 1.5% to $322.03 with a 52-week range of $265.00 to $408.06. 

Google Inc(NASDAQ:GOOGL) announced on Thursday it acquired video-advertising provider MDialog and wireless startup Alpental Technologies in an effort to boost its DoubleClick online advertising platform and wireless technologies. Financial terms of the operation were not disclosed. 

Google Inc(NASDAQ:GOOGL) shares recently traded at $552.14, down 0.5%. The stock trades near the midpoint of the 52-week range of $502.80 to $604.83. 

Twitter Inc. (TWTR) has reportedly split the role of former COO Ali Rowghani between company executives Adam Bain and Gabriel Stricker, Reuters reported citing tech website Re/code. Bain will be charge of revenue and partnerships while Stricker will manage marketing and media.

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) shares, which have lost approximately 42% of their value since January 1, were down 1.9% to $38.18 in afternoon trade Friday. The stock has a 52-week range of $29.51 to $74.73.
