iPhone 6- Is It Actually Different From iPhone 5S?

1137

It’s been quite a while since Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) released its iPhone 6 into the market. Where thousands of Apple fans have already bought them, some iPhone owners are still using the previous models. So let’s assess as to whether these owners need to change their phones or not, especially the owners of iPhone 5S.

There are some physical difference between the two iPhones, which make them quite distinguishing. For instance, the display size of iPhone 6 is larger than that of iPhone 5S. Those users, who want to use their phones in a bigger 4.7 inch display, may be inclined to upgrade their iPhones. The display of iPhone 6 has pixels of 326 with a screen resolution of 1334 x 750. In comparison, iPhone 5S has a display size of 4 inch together with a screen resolution of 1136 x 640. As for the pixel density, it is the same as that of  iPhone 6.

The resolution and display size suggest that the quality of picture that the users will experience in both the phones will be the same, for the bigger screen size of iPhone 6 needs a higher resolution in order to keep the pixels density same. Hence, the display experience that users will have on iPhone 6 is the same as that of iPhone 5S; menaing that the only difference would be in the size of display.

What is interesting to note here is the fact that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) used a different glass for its display in iPhone 6. Previously, the company was using Gorilla Glass; however, it shifted to shatter-proof glass for its iPhone 6S. The reason being that shatter-proof glass is much more reliable than its counter-part.  Another physical difference is the rounded edges of iPhone 6. Where the previous iPhones were in a rectangular shape with sharp edges, the new design of iPhone 6 is quite appreciated in the market.

Then comes the price factor. A brand new iPhone 5S is available at a total price of $550 in the storage capacity of 16 GB. If the customers want to buy a 64 GB model, they can have it at $600. iPhone 6, on the other hand, is quite expensive. The 16 GB model is available for a total of $650. As for 64 GB and 128 GB models, they are available at $750 and $850 respectively.

Coming to some of the subtle differences, iPhone 6 features A8 chip, which is a 64-bit. It is important to mention here that iPhone 5S featured A7; however, that chip was also a 64- bit. As for the processor of iPhone 5S and iPhone 6, the former featured a 1.3 GHz processor whereas the latter has a 1.4 GHz installed in it. The RAM size in both the phones is the same. Moreover, the front and rear camera is also the same.

iPhone 6 has a larger battery with 1,810 mAh. On the contrary, iPhone 5S’s battery size was 1,560.
