The selfie fever won’t be mellowing down any time soon; seeing this frenzy Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is set to release two mid-range smartphones in the market which would further stoke the fire. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) acquired Nokia back in April to work on their Windows phones. The devices called Lumia, are sleek in design with breathtaking cameras and the best thing about them is the price points which is anything but expensive.

These devices will serve as a bridge between customers and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s online services – especially OneDrive and the Bing search.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) didn’t keep from taking a dig at Apple Inc, (NASDAQ:AAPL) about their latest iCloud controversy. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) guaranteed the secrecy of OneDrive and claims that it is impossible to hack into it. It also emphasized on the users using complex usernames and passwords to reduce any chances of hacking.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phones have been lagging in the market, behind Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005930) and Apple Inc, (NASDAQ:AAPL) gadgets but the company aims to boost up its sales with their two new products unveiled at IFA, called LUMIA 730 and 830. Lumia 930 is their benchmark smartphone with a 20mp rear camera that also tends to the craze of selfies.

The new releases don’t possess the heavy specifications of Lumia 930 but still has a sharp rear camera with Lumia 730 that features 6.7 mega pixels and 830 equipped with a 10mp camera. Lumia is known for its popularity with the youth because of its sleek design and a colorful body.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) claimed that they’re competing with the top brands in the market and the company is hopeful that soon Lumia will be considered as a top runner in the smartphone line.

Lumia Selfie, an interesting app will enable users to take the selfies with the rearview camera; even though users will not be able to see themselves on the screen but the app will provide face detection and directions about the right placement of the selfie, which will give more control to the user over the selfie.

These new releases won’t hit the market immediately but will debut by September.

With their innovative gadgets Apple Inc, (NASDAQ:AAPL and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005930) as of now rule the electronics market and they are considered the only rivals; it is believed that the rest are still not touching the same level in gadgets and devices market. However Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has made bold claims of ‘sweeping the market’ with its smart phones; they claim that the phones will appeal to both young and old.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has a lot riding on these new releases and after making such bold statements it will be under the microscope of analysts and its rivals Apple Inc, (NASDAQ:AAPL and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005930). Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will have to do something very extra ordinary to shake things up in the smart phone market.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been busy in its efforts to get to the top; it acquired Skype in 2011, which proved to be a good move because it brought more credibility to the company and also a lot of revenue.
