Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) to come up with a Smartphone

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), in an announcement disclosed its association with a fully branded Windows Smartphone from Redmond. A blog post was made that had details about the phone containing hash tag #More Lumia as well as a marketing line, “Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is delivering the power of everyday mobile technology to everyone.” However, whether Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will be using this line for advertisement or not yet to be confirmed.

Just when Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) made the announcement of its new Smartphone, Weibo, a social networking site leaked a few images of the handset.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s first Windows Phone will be the talk of the town for a while. The design development and the testing of the Smartphone had been completed and most of the groundwork had already been done in the 2 years’ time, during which Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) had announced its deal of taking over Nokia services. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s purchase of Nokia is a huge leap for Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), and the company would obviously want to make the most of this purchase.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) earned the right of using Nokia’s name on its Smartphone for 18 months as part of the deal. The name Nokia is quite well known, and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has used it well to generate sales and profits. Nokia was one of the pioneers of mobile phones and the fact that Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) can use its name is a huge plus point for Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Smartphone. While Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will be using Nokia’s name for its benefit for a while, it does not want the name to linger and therefore it is already set on using Lumia as the future name for its Smartphone. Initially the name will have Nokia as the suffix, however, Nokia will be omitted in the future. Taking the name Nokia out as quickly as possible will be beneficiary for the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Smartphone in the long term, because that will help the phone to claim its own individual identity. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) would want consumers to remember Lumia as a separate line of Smartphone.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s handsets are said to have dual-SIM system, and according to a post by Weibo, Chinese regulator TENAA is the one who is looking over the handset and is examining all aspects of the new Smartphone.

As per speculations, the phone will probably have 600 model range and will be priced appropriately which might be as low as $249. There will probably be no apparent numbers on the phone and the UI navigation keys will probably be software based with 854 X 480 pixels of screen running. It will probably be a mid to low end product. What model number will be allotted to the new handset is something will be revealed in future.

More complete and precise details about the handset will be released on November 11, and until then the potential customers or anyone else interested in this launch will just have to wait for any sort of leaked news to hit the market, which may or may not be close to reality.
