The Next Generation of Gadgets Released By Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN)

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has decided to keep things simple and quick. It did not arrange any high profile expensive launch events for its latest gadgets.

Taking the quieter route, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) launched its latest group of Kindle tablets. This newer version of tablets from Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has various new features along with a new and improvised operation system. The latest generation of Kindle was unveiled in a small event in Los Angeles and had far less technology media coverage as compared to other events held by competitor companies.

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) released a range of tablets, which included a kids tablet called Fire HD Kids Edition; a budget oriented tablet Fire HD; a high-end tablet called Kindle Fire HDX; and Kindle Voyage, which is a high end e-reader. There is also Kindle which is an economical e-reader.

Amazon’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) actions are completely opposite to Apple’s – the latter had a mega launch for its devices and products which was broadcasted internationally. Similarly this summer Samsung, Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) also organized big budgeted, flashy ceremonies to show off their brand new products.

Looking at the specifications, it becomes evident how each and every tablet has different features to fit the needs of users from different groups. Kindle Fire HDX comes at a price of $379 with an 8.9 inch screen and a processor of 2.5 gigahertz. The tablet weighs 20% less than iPad Air because it has the weight of 13.2 ounce. With a 339 pixel per inch display and light weight, it feels like a paperback book with moving pictures in your hand.

The more basic tablet, Fire KD Kids Edition is a small tablet which, comes with two years of warranty. It comes in two sizes – six inch and seven inch – the price for six inch model is $149 and the one of seven inch is $189. It is combined with a huge collection of books, movies, TV shoes and applications especially designed for kids.

The next tablet that was released recently is the Fire HD, which comes at a surprising price of $99 with a six inch size – the price creeps up to $139 for the seven inch tablet. With a processor of 1.5 gigahertz and a lower screen resolution as compared to HDX, this tablet is claimed to run as smoothly as the Samsung Tab 4.

Kindle Voyage is an extremely light and thin tablet – with the thickness of 7.6 millimeters and the weight of 6.2 ounces it is considered as the thinnest and lightest tablet in the market. It comes with the new “paper white” display technology and has impressive bright lights that can adjust to the lighting conditions of the surroundings to give a perfect view. Rumor has it that, it also includes the new system called new page turn; which means that it has sensors that gives the impression and echo of the actual page being turned. The tablet includes free 3G to quicken the process of downloading a book. This e-reader comes at a price of $199.

Kindle is the least expensive tablet from the house of Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN). It comes at a price of $79 and has the basic features with nothing too flashy to boast.
